Food for Life stands for changing food for good. Alongside the work we do with the people and communities we support, we work with our colleagues across the Soil Association on multiple campaigns advocating for system-wide change and raising awareness for the causes we care about.
Active Campaigns and Causes Ultra Processed Food
With Ultra-Processed Foods creeping into our daily lives now more than ever, at the Soil Association we are putting a spotlight on what Ultra Processed Food really means. The dangers they pose, and how can we reclaim whole foods and cooking from scratch to become the norm, when lack of time and the cost of living makes eating fresh food feel like a luxury.

Save our fruit and veg - Home grown campaign
Our Soil Association horticulture colleagues Home grown report in to the low levels of UK grown fruit and veg. This report focused on the urgent need for policy shifts across the food and farming spectrum to support our UK growers. This includes investment for public sector procurement to help shorten supply chains, support local growers and support the school fruit and veg scheme.

Free School Meals
Whilst the work continues for every child to have a healthy and sustainable meal every day, there are approximately 900,000 children in England who live in poverty yet don’t qualify for Free School Meals. This is unacceptable. We want to see the government provide healthy and high-quality school meals for all school children in the UK.

Plant and Share / Cook and Share
Plant and Share (April) and Cook and Share (November) campaigns are for everyone! They are our mass mobilisation campaigns with the sole intention of getting everyone and anyone cooking and/or growing, together. Working with our partners across schools, early years, caterers, communities, individuals and families we design easy to use, free to download resources to help inspire everyone to get involved in the good food movement, all at low cost and easily accessible, regardless of the amount of space, equipment or knowledge.
